MoU signed between UE and South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences

University of Applied Sciences Europe (UE) and South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences (UAS), also based in Germany, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).  They will work closely regarding the recruitment of international students.

The MoU was signed by the rectors of both universities, Professor Dr Claus Schuster of UAS and Professor Dr Maurits van Rooijen of UE.

Starting this autumn, UE will offer a one-year preparatory course in Iserlohn for prospective international students to prepare them for studies in Germany by helping them pass the Foundation Year assessment test. Applicants who successfully complete the Foundation Year at UE can then according to the cooperation agreement - enrol on a course at UAS, as long as other admissions requirements are also met.

Rector Professor Dr Claus Schuster said: "This is a win-win situation for both universities, but the city and the regional economy will also benefit from it."

Professor Maurits van Rooijen said: "Internationalisation is important, especially in education. With the establishment of the Foundation Year at UE, we want to make our contribution and train specialists in the region.“
