St Patrick’s passes QAA review

St Patrick’s passes QAA review

Last month, St Patrick’s underwent a Higher Education Review (AP) re-review by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). The college has now received notification of a successful outcome!

QAA made the following judgements:

  • The maintenance of the academic standards of awards offered on behalf of degree-awarding bodies and/or other awarding organisations meets UK expectations
  • The quality of student learning opportunities meets UK expectations
  • The quality of the information about learning opportunities meets UK expectations
  • The enhancement of student learning opportunities meets UK expectations

In addition, two areas of good practice were identified:

  • The individualised support for students provided by academic and support staff
  • The range of opportunities to engage students as partners in the assurance of their educational experience, including the Student Council

Partnership with students is integral to the development of the college, and we are proud to be consistently recognised for making their needs a priority. The QAA panel members made specific references to the positive engagement, enthusiasm and genuine passion of the students who took part in the review.
