DUBLIN, IRELAND – 20 July 2023

IBAT College and Atlantic Technological University sign partnership agreement

On Thursday 20 July, IBAT College and Ireland’s Atlantic Technological University (ATU) signed a unique and historical educational partnership agreement.

In a first of a kind in Ireland, the private-public partnership will initially see IBAT launch two master’s programmes, an MSc in Business Management and an MSc in Marketing at its campuses in Dublin.

In addition to the two master’s programmes, IBAT will also launch ATU’s Access for Higher Education programme, providing a supportive educational environment which will prepare students academically for a full-time undergraduate degree.

Bharat Vaswani, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Global University Systems said: “This is truly a ground-breaking time for both IBAT and Atlantic Technological University. There has never been a partnership of this kind in Ireland so we are delighted to work with ATU and are very confident that it will be hugely successful.

Dr Orla Flynn, ATU President said: “Atlantic Technological University is looking forward to working with Global University Systems and IBAT College. The recent signing of our collaborative agreements in relation to certificate and postgraduate programmes in business is very exciting.

“ATU was established in April 2022, following the merger of Letterkenny Institute of Technology, IT Sligo and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. As a result, we have become one of the largest universities in Ireland, offering a diverse range of programmes across eight campuses in some of the most breathtaking locations in the country.

“Ensuring quality and excellence in our awards is of utmost importance to us, and the respective teams in ATU and GUS/IBAT are already working hard to ensure our new collaboration will lead to excellent outcomes for the learners enrolled. The coming year promises to be an exciting and productive journey for all of us!”

These programmes are expected to also attract many international students, for who Dublin is an attractive study destination.
