UPES has entered a significant partnership with the Indian Navy, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer a wide range of academic and professional development opportunities to Naval personnel and their families. This collaboration, in line with UPES’ existing partnerships with the Indian Army and Air Force, reflects the university’s continued commitment to empowering India’s defence forces through education.
The MoU was signed by Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President, Navy Welfare & Wellness Association (NWWA), Cmde SM Urooj Athar, Cmde (Naval Education), and Mr Bharat Kharbanda, Member, Board of Governors, UPES. The offerings will include on-campus undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, part-time Ph.D. programmes, and online learning options across disciplines such as management, technology, law, and science.
The partnership also includes merit-based scholarships, fee waivers, relaxed eligibility criteria, and exclusive academic benefits. The university will also support the families of Naval personnel who lost their lives or were incapacitated in the line of duty. This MoU reaffirms UPES’ position as a partner in nation-building through education.
The event brought together 12 early-stage startups from prestigious institutions, including IITs, BITS Pilani, SRM University, and the National University of Singapore, alongside UPES’s own founders.
