Gisma University of Applied Sciences earns prestigious Global Impact Recognition
Gisma University of Applied Sciences has been awarded the EFMD BSIS (Business School Impact System) Impact Label, joining an elite group of business schools worldwide. This achievement makes Gisma only the second institution in Germany to receive this distinction, alongside WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
Granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), the BSIS label recognises measurable impact beyond academia in areas such as economic growth, talent development, sustainability, research, and global reputation.
According to the assessment, Gisma contributes €126.5 million annually to the Berlin–Brandenburg economy, with students and alumni launching over 15 businesses and creating 120+ jobs. The university’s community is 96% international, representing more than 90 countries, and 74% of graduates remain in the region, strengthening the local talent pool.
This recognition underscores Gisma’s role as a driving force for innovation, sustainability, and global engagement.
