The University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) Dubai has launched the Green Futures Forum, a new platform designed to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of a more sustainable future. Initiated by Prof. Dr. Katariina Juusola and Prof. Dr. Daniel Kleber, the forum connects academic learning with real-world perspectives from business, policy, and society, underscoring the university’s commitment to sustainability, responsible leadership, and future-ready education.
The inaugural event focused on sustainability, innovation, and leadership. Swethal Kumar, Managing Director of The Catalyst, explored how businesses can develop sustainable models that balance economic success with social and environmental responsibility. Dr. Rashed Mohamed Karkain, sustainability expert and author, shared practical insights into sustainable leadership and the implementation of sustainability strategies.
“Sustainability is no longer a niche topic, it is a core competency for the leaders of tomorrow,” said Prof. Dr. Daniel Kleber. Prof. Dr. Katariina Juusola added: “As a university, we have a responsibility to empower students to develop sustainable solutions and actively contribute to positive change in society.”
