University of Niagara Falls Canada named Ontario’s Most Innovative Higher Education Institution for second consecutive year
For the second year in a row, University of Niagara Falls Canada has received the award for Most Innovative Higher Education Institution 2026 – Ontario as part of Corporate Vision’s Education and Training Awards.
Now in its seventh year, the annual Education and Training Awards recognise organisations and individuals making an impact across the education and training sector, with a focus on areas including innovation, learner outcomes and industry impact. Winners are selected through a merit-based process, with Corporate Vision’s research and judging team evaluating nominees based on the quality and impact of their work.
The recognition highlights UNF’s student-centred, future-focused approach to education. Through experiential learning designed to address real gaps in today’s workforce, UNF’s programmes focus on developing a digital mindset, providing hands-on learning opportunities and building strong industry connections to equip students with the skills and experience needed for their future careers.
“This recognition is a great achievement in what has been a milestone year for our school community,” says David Gray, President and Vice-Chancellor of UNF. “Thanks to the dedication of our expert staff and the hard work of our amazing students, UNF celebrated our very first graduating class, and we are just getting started. Looking to 2027, we are getting ready to launch three new sustainability-focused programmes that will build the leaders who can address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.”
Building on its commitment to providing students with innovative, future-focused education, UNF is expanding its academic offering in 2027 with three new, graduate programmes: Master of Regenerative Sustainability, Master of Sustainability Systems, and Master of Water and Food programmes. Designed in direct response to urgent workforce and societal needs, the programmes will combine industry engagement, a digital approach and learning that connects students with some of the most pressing sustainability challenges facing society today.
