From Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 October, GUS Canada participated in the China Annual Conference and Exposition for International Education (CACIE) in Beijing. The event attracted over 4,000 attendees and 371 institutions under the theme ‘Advance and Connect: Converging the Power of Education.’ Lisa Zhuo, Associate Director of Business Development and Partnerships at GUS Canada, represented GUS Canada and showcased its institutions at the China-Canada B2B Connect Partnerships event, initiating valuable dialogues with leaders from over 14 post-secondary institutions across China.

Following CACIE, GUS Canada’s commitment to fostering international educational ties continued as Lisa Zhuo took part in the 2023 Canadian Education Mission to China. This initiative, supported by the Embassy of Canada to China and the Canada China Business Council, involved representatives from more than 30 Canadian institutions and facilitated engagement with influential Chinese educational organisations and Canadian diplomatic figures. This included interactions with Canadian Trade Commissioners overseeing education in China, officials from IRCC in China, and Chinese representatives from affiliated organisations of the Ministry of Education.

Additionally, the mission provided an exclusive opportunity for the delegation to visit esteemed institutions such as Beijing Renmin University, Beijing University of Technology, and Beijing Union University.
