The University of Law forms new partnership with University of Southampton to deliver law courses

The University of Law (ULaw) will deliver the LPC and the LLM Legal Practice at University of Southampton from September 2022 as part of a new and exclusive partnership.

The new courses, to be delivered at the Southampton Law School building, will allow qualification through both the LPC and SQE routes at Masters level, along with flexible part-time study options being offered from January 2023 to allow multiple study options for every law student’s situation.

The addition of these new legal courses at University of Southampton offers ULaw’s professional training for aspiring legal professionals in the South East, outside of London, to allow the new generation to shape the legal landscape across the country.

To help support aspiring lawyers commencing the LPC or LLM at University of Southampton in September 2022, ULaw will offer an introductory £500 Southampton Award which will be discount on the course fees.

ULaw will also continue to offer a free Masters for students studying the LPC, meaning they will be able to add either an MSc in Law, Business and Management, or LLM in Professional Legal Practice at no extra cost.

Professor Werner Scholtz, Head of Southampton Law School, said: "As Head of School, I am extremely excited about the collaboration with ULaw. ULaw is one of the largest providers of professional legal training in England and Wales and the collaboration with such a reputable service provider will allow Southampton to provide its students with a complete law journey to complement its research-based teaching. The initiative is part of our strategy of continuous growth as a global law school that is responsive to the needs of legal practice in the UK."

Professor Peter Crisp, Deputy Vice Chancellor Law, at The University of Law, said: “We’re pleased to be entering into this fantastic partnership with a Russell Group institution with a track record of training lawyers which speaks for itself. We are looking forward to having a successful and long-term presence in the Southampton legal market and to building great relationships going forward.

“This is our eighth partnership with leading UK universities including the University of Exeter, University of Sheffield, University of Reading, University of Liverpool, the University of East Anglia in Norwich and The University of Chester Law School. We are continuing to strengthen our position as the outstanding legal education provider across England and Wales, and ensuring those students looking to qualify in law now have a greater opportunity to do so with us.”
