UPES becomes first Indian university to earn Gold sustainability impact certification
UPES has been awarded the prestigious Gold Leaf certification by Aspire Impact, becoming the first university in India to complete a comprehensive, standards-based impact assessment integrated with full greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting. The evaluation covered Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and assessed performance across Aspire’s 4P framework – Product, People, Planet and Policy.
The university achieved Platinum-level performance in Inclusion and Emissions Management, reflecting strong outcomes across accessibility, sustainability and governance. UPES also released its Impact Assessment Report 2024–25 and GHG Emissions Report, outlining measurable progress, including reductions in emissions intensity and a clear pathway towards its Net Zero target for 2031.
The recognition positions UPES among a global cohort of institutions adopting structured, data-driven approaches to sustainability and impact, strengthening its focus on responsible growth and measurable outcomes.
