GUS Canada’s CEO Cyndi McLeod Honoured with Prestigious PIEoneer Award
The international education community focused its attention on the PIEoneer Awards, held on September 22, 2023, at the Hilton Bankside in London, United Kingdom, and broadcast online. GUS Canada’s CEO, Cyndi McLeod, received high honours, winning in the category of ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry.’
The annual PIEoneer Awards, celebrated for spotlighting innovation and achievement across the entire global education landscape, are granted by a distinguished judging panel. The panel represents both geographical and professional diversity and aims to acknowledge individuals and organizations that set new benchmarks in educational standards, engagement and the international student experience. This year, the event was attended by 560 professionals from 21 countries and featured 20 categories, spanning the breadth of the industry.
Cyndi’s win in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’ category positions her among elite professionals who are making substantial and meaningful contributions to global education. The award serves as a validation of her enduring commitment to elevating educational standards and enhancing the quality of the international student experience.
Two other winners were also recognized in the same category: Bobby Mehta, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at the University of Portsmouth and Chair of the British Universities’ International Liaison Association; and Edwin van Rest, Co-Founder & CEO of Studyportals.
This prestigious accolade serves as a significant milestone for GUS Canada and acts as an exemplar for the Canadian higher education community as well as the international education industry at large. The award substantiates GUS Canada’s reputation for excellence and indicates the influential role Cyndi McLeod plays – and will likely continue to play – in the future of international education.
