GUS Partners Conference 2026 explores ‘Resilient Futures’ for global education
The Global University Systems Partners Conference 2026 brought together global education leaders, partners, and industry experts in Cannes for three days of high-level dialogue under the theme Resilient Futures: Reimagining Global Education Together. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the forum created a space for open exchange on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of higher education.
The conference opened with a welcome dinner and keynote from Dr Fanta Aw, CEO of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, who set the tone for discussions on global collaboration and the evolving international education landscape. The evening also marked the launch of the GUS Fellow Awards by Professor Maurits van Rooijen, Chief Academic Officer at Global University Systems.
Across the programme, senior leaders explored key themes including transnational education, global recruitment in an era of uncertainty, and the future of technology-enabled learning. A keynote by Professor Rose Luckin, Founder and CEO of Educate Ventures Research Limited, highlighted the role of human-centred intelligence in shaping the university of the future.
With contributions from leaders across institutions worldwide, the conference featured a mix of panel discussions, roundtables, and curated networking opportunities designed to spark collaboration and innovation. The event concluded with interactive sessions and informal networking along Cannes’ iconic Croisette, reinforcing the importance of connection and partnership in creating resilient and globally connected education systems.
