The University of Law Dean wins Lifetime Achievement Award
On Thursday 14 March, Sarah Ramsey, Dean of The University of Law’s Birmingham campus received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Birmingham Law Society Awards dinner.
This well-deserved accolade is an acknowledgement of Sarah’s dedication to her students, their careers and the legal profession. She has made an outstanding difference to so many, helping them to transform their lives and achieve their dreams.
Many former students emailed their appreciation for Sarah, singing her praises. One former student said: “There are no words that can truly describe the impact Sarah has had on her former students and the Birmingham legal community. It is no coincidence that so many that she has taught have gone on to develop successful legal careers. Her passion is unmatched. She is selfless in all that she does.
“On a personal level, Sarah has given me a huge amount of support and has always taken every opportunity to promote and help me. She doesn’t get anything back for this (if anything probably more headaches), but this doesn’t matter to Sarah. This is what makes her so special. I think the greatest reflection of Sarah’s impact is this: without Sarah Ramsey, there would be far less family lawyers in Birmingham – she inspired all of her students in a way that made them feel that she would support them every step of the way.”
Alongside Sarah, Eleanor Ford, BPTC student at The University of Law, won the Outstanding Student Contribution of the Year award and the Litigation Programme at The University of Law Birmingham campus won the Pro Bono Award.
Congratulations to all the winners at the Birmingham Law Society Awards.
