Trebas graduate’s short film wins at New York International Women Festival
Estranged, a powerful and emotionally resonant short film directed by Trebas Institute Quebec graduate, Anahée Bruce Brousseau, has won the Best Student Film award at the prestigious New York Women Film Festival. Developed as a class project within the Film and Television Production programme, the film was created under the guidance of instructor Ioannis Koutroubis and brought to life by Group 76 – a talented and dedicated team of student filmmakers.
Blending striking visuals with a deeply human story, Estranged has captured the attention of international audiences and was also previously nominated at the 2025 Berlin Women Cinema Festival, where it continued to garner critical acclaim and recognition.
This achievement highlights the exceptional quality of training, mentorship, and hands-on experience at Trebas Institute Quebec, where students are empowered to create award-winning, industry-ready work even before graduation.
