This week, Dr Mathew Knowles, Visiting Lecturer at the London College of Contemporary Music and scholarship sponsor, was in London for a run of events at the college.
As manager of Destiny’s Child and father to Beyoncé and Solange, Dr Knowles is one of the most successful music managers of the modern pop era.
On Monday 24 June, Dr Knowles joined a panel to discuss diversity in music with invited guest speakers Arit Eminue, an award-winning Chief People, Inclusion and Culture specialist, and Lashawna Rose Stewart, an A&R Manager at Sony.
Two days later, Dr Knowles presented an open lecture on artist management to a packed room of students. The lecture gave insight into what makes a successful artist manager, and he ensured there was plenty of time for questions from the audience.
