LCCA hosts ‘Unbiased’ fashion show

Last week, at the London College of Contemporary Art’s Garage venue, a packed audience saw ‘Unbiased’, a fashion show by BA Hospitality Management students.
From 16:00 to 18:00, on campus and online, there was a celebration of the richness of humanity, diversity, and culture. Featuring student models, this event set new standards for inclusivity in the creative world and left a lasting impression on all attendees.
The first sequence was by Oladipupo Falaye, student at LCCA and owner of Temi-Falage Coutur, with Temi-Falaye Couture. His designs fused Nigerian and Ghanaian prints and dress, with European couture runway styles and silhouettes.
Following this was Anastasiia Berlizeva, a Ukrainian designer student from the Foundation school, currently based in London. She was the youngest designer to show her collection at the Ukrainian Fashion Week 2021 and has also exhibited at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. Her designs drew inspiration from the 2000s of her youth.
The final sequence was from Cristina Adami, an Italian designer based in Clerkenwell, London. Christina is also an inspirational teacher in the BA Fashion Management and Marketing programme at LCCA. Her work mixed natural and sustainable fabrics with hand finishes, creating a modern boho chic look that will stand the test of time.
As part of the event, visitors were invited to join the students at the Hospitality Management School in making a positive impact by promoting the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and decolonising our curriculum at LCCA.
Arturas Vencius, who is currently studying the Hospitality programme, said: “This was a truly amazing event, and I’m sure that it will be one I remember for a long time. The Garage was packed and everybody enjoyed the event.”
Student-centredness and experiential learning are at the heart of LCCA. LCCA would like to thank Maria Magdalena Kolczynska, Event Project Manager, who hosted the fantastic canapés with the BA Hospitality Management team. Alba Soria, BA Graphic Design student, completed the design and illustration work for the event’s poster.
