The University of Law builds strategic ties with the Bar Council of India
Senior representatives from The University of Law visited the Bar Council of India in New Delhi for high-level discussions with Mr Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Bar Council and Member of Indian Parliament, and other legal education leaders.
This visit marks a key milestone in the University’s global engagement and commitment to supporting international legal careers. Professor Peter Crisp, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at The University of Law, and Tatiana Rizopoulou, Director of International Development at The University of Law, led talks on extending Bar Council accreditation to the University’s LLB, LLM and other law postgraduate degrees, as well as CPD programmes across UK campuses – an important step for Indian law students studying in the UK.
The visit also explored a potential partnership with the International Law University in Goa, which aims to align legal education standards and create new academic pathways between the UK and India.
