The short film Estranged, directed by Trebas graduate, Anahée Bruce Brousseau, continues to receive international recognition. Originally created as a class project under the guidance of Film and TV programme instructor, Ioannis Koutroubis, the film has just recently reached the semi-finals of the prestigious New York International Women Festival.
Estranged explores themes of family estrangement, buried secrets, and past trauma, following two sisters struggling to reconnect after their father’s death. Its emotional depth and compelling storytelling have already earned it a nomination at the Berlin Women Cinema Festival 2025. Advancing in New York further highlights its impact and the talent behind it.
