Trebas Institute Ontario hosts Nigerian film school delegation
During the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Trebas Institute Ontario hosted “Morning at Trebas,” an event welcoming a Nigerian delegation of professionals who operate film schools and colleges in Nigeria.
Led by Temitayo Lore Dada, the Trade Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria, and set up by Kal Szegvary, Trebas Academic Operations Manager, the visit aimed to explore educational collaborations. Delegates toured Trebas’ production facilities and facilitated networking opportunities with insights into Nigeria’s film industry.
Presentations included Kal Szegvary’s shortened screenwriting masterclass, and an exciting tour of the audio facility led by audio faculty members, Jeff Wright and Kenny Nguyen.
Filmmaker Patricia Bewa, who had some assistance from Trebas making her first feature, shared her experiences directing “The Life Coach,” highlighting Trebas student’s contributions. The event finished with a networking lunch, allowing delegates to discuss film training in Nigeria, resulting in valuable connections for all involved.
