On Tuesday 21 May, the University of Europe for Applied Sciences announced a partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Business College, marking a significant milestone for the university.
This collaboration is part of UE’s international ambitions, furthering its reputation as a high-ranking institution. The signing ceremony took place in Shanghai, with Professor Dr Maurits van Rooijen, Chief Academic Officer at GUS and President of UE, leading the event.
Professor Dr Maurits van Rooijen said: “This collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Business College is a pivotal step in our global strategy, and I am looking forward to our collaboration as Shanghai Jiatong is a top-rated university, known for instance for the Jiao Tong University Ranking. Its triple crown business school belongs to the global top 1%.
“The school’s dean recently brought a delegation to the new UE Dubai campus and was so impressed that it led to a request for a strategic collaboration as part of their aim to gain a stronger global presence.”
The partnership encompasses potential cooperation with UE’s Dubai campus. This cooperation covers various fields, including the exchange of scholars to participate in conferences, symposia and seminars, the development and implementation of staff exchange programmes, academic staff collaboration in research and teaching in areas of common interest and the identification of special executive programmes and projects of mutual benefit.
