University Canada West alumna named finalist for YWAC Women of Distinction Award
A University Canada West alumna was recently a finalist for a prestigious YWAC Women of Distinction Award.
YWCA Metro Vancouver is a registered charity, gender equity advocate and community service provider that delivers a range of holistic programmes that help support individual, collective and economic well-being. Their annual Women of Distinction Awards celebrates women who are making a difference in their communities.
Kerry Gibson, an MBA alumna, was shortlisted in the Environmental Sustainability category. Kerry Gibson is Founder of Nutrition through Engagement and Agricultural Technologies, which operates out of Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of the Environment. She is renowned for her advocacy for policies supporting sustainable development and environmental protection, having spoken at the United Nations and has been recognised as a UN Women Planet 5050 Champion.
Cyndi McLeod, GUS Canada CEO, and Midya U, UCW Vice President of Marketing and Communications, recently joined Kerry Gibson at the awards gala.
