University Canada West hosts fencing Olympians at event
University Canada West provided its staff, students and faculty with an extraordinary opportunity to meet some of the most celebrated figures in Olympic fencing. This unique event offered a glimpse into the world of elite sports, allowing attendees to engage with legends who shared their inspiring stories.
The distinguished guest speakers included Lee Kiefer, a three-time Olympic Champion in Women’s Foil, Gerek Lin Meinhardt, a five-time Olympian and two-time Team Olympic Bronze Medalist and Igor Gantsevich, Former High-Performance Director of the Canadian National Team, 2022 Vancouver World Cup Chairman and Paris 2024 Olympics Team Leader.
The event, held at the Vancouver House East Campus, concluded with a special photo session, where attendees had the chance to capture memories with the athletes and their recent Olympic medals from Paris.
