University Canada West hosts online student forum ‘Breaking Barriers’
On Tuesday 23 January, University Canada West held an online student forum titled: “Breaking Barriers: Navigate Your Future Career in Canada with Accessibility and Inclusion in Mind.”
Co-hosted by UCW’s Accessibility Services team and INNoVA, the forum aimed to discuss the challenges and barriers faced by newcomers and students while transitioning into the Canadian job market. INNoVA is an accessible and inclusive consulting firm, grounded in leading edge research, that is developing solutions to enhance Canadian workplaces by cultivating barrier-free and individualised employee experiences.
The event included a panel discussion involving several industry experts who shared insights and engaged in numerous collaborative conversations. In addition, students had the chance to participate in a Q&A session, sharing their experiences and receiving guidance. This interactive format encouraged a direct exchange of knowledge and enhanced the overall learning experience for everyone involved.
The event brought together 12 early-stage startups from prestigious institutions, including IITs, BITS Pilani, SRM University, and the National University of Singapore, alongside UPES’s own founders.
