University of Niagara Falls Canada hosts healthcare innovation event

Last week, the University of Niagara Falls Canada hosted the first Niagara Innovation Cluster Helping Entrepreneurs (NICHE) event. Each event focused on a major sector in Niagara. This first event, on healthcare innovation, was presented in collaboration with the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub, the City of Niagara Falls, Niagara Health and Niagara Region Economic Development.
More than 70 people with a connection to the healthcare industry were in attendance, including partners, startups, industry professionals and event speakers.
Dr David Gray, Provost and Vice-President, Academic at UNF, provided opening remarks, along with several other stakeholders, including Jim Diodati, Niagara Falls Mayor, and the honourable Chuck Furey.
The event featured Startup Alley, which saw several exhibitors showcasing their innovative healthcare-related startups, as well as two panel discussions: ‘Intervention by Innovation’ and ‘Food as Medicine Effect’.
